Boys and Wisdom are like Oil and Water

You'll never get the two mixed together without a lot of agitation first

We had a bunch of excitement this morning down at the store.  Hope all the sirens and flashing lights didn't keep anyone away.  Eli saw that some animal had dug out a hollow under the store's back wall in order to get in out of the cold.  Upon seeing the hole, he did what any self-respecting twelve year old boy would do - he got down on his belly and attempted to stick his head out through the hole under the wall.

He was successful.

Getting his head back through, however, proved more difficult.  His wiggles dislodged some of the dirt and gravel, wedging him in even tighter.  By the time Heidi found him, he was so stuck she couldn't get him loose.  She tried to dig out under him, but with the position he was in, she couldn't do it without better helpers.  I was at work 20 minutes away, so we ended up calling the Kempner Fire Department.

All's well that ends well.  They got him loose (took three of them) and he's none the worse for wear other than one small abrasion on his cheek.

A big "Thank You" to the members of the Volunteer Fire Department and the EMS crew!

And thanks be to the Lord, who protects young men from their own selves
