Greener Vision Spring Season!!

First, let me apologize.  For the past couple of months I have not been updating this blog as I should have been.  Those of you who might have found your way here but not sent in a contact form or been put on our email list might have thought we haven't been doing anything at all since Christmas.  Nothing could be farther from the truth!

Heidi and the kids have been hard at work in the fields.  We're really way ahead of where we were last year at this time!  Now if only it would rain....

The fields have been cleared, and a large portion have been tilled.  Raised beds have been set up, and lots of stuff is planted!  We have nice pea plants (English, Sugar Snap, and Snow peas), spinach, lettuce, and swiss chard.  The latter two have been producing all winter.  We have onions in the ground, and potatoes, kohlrabi, broccoli, and kale.  Some carrots, cabbages, radishes, and turnips too.  Everything that can take a frost is in the ground, and most has begun to come up.

We've been working on suppliers as well.  We've been able to find a couple of additional small farmers locally who can provide us with their sustainable, free range chicken eggs, so no more running out of eggs!  We're hoping to get some veggies grown for us this spring as well!

Most exciting is that we've found someone local to provide us and you with starter plants for your garden!  Beginning this Saturday, he'll be out there at our store with tomato, pepper, squash, and cucumber plants all nicely started and ready for transplant!

So come by and see what's growing in the field, stock up on some honey and eggs, and maybe get the fixings for a nice big salad while you're at it!
