Greener Vision Saturday Offerings
Boy is this weather great! Warm enough to enjoy, not too hot, no more rain so things can dry out... the only issue is that the weather is so mild you don't realize how much sun you're getting until it's too late.
You should see Heidi's sunburn ![]()
Hopefully this weekend, the fields will be dry enough to do some more tilling, need to get that johnson grass plowed under before it starts to take over. Heidi and the kids have been doing a great job working though the little weeds in the rows by hand. All the peas are looking fantastic, and there are lots of flowers. The lettuce is pushing up the row cover tightly, and we've uncovered the spinach to get full sun.
Heidi's been transplanting lots of little seedlings into bigger pots, with Macy's help. She's just old enough to fill the pots with potting soil and she's done a couple hundred so far! Our utility room bathroom is wall to wall trays of plants!
This Saturday we will still only be there officially from 10 - 1 but we have lots to do, so we'll likely be out there all day.
The selection will look just like last week. We'll have:
Fresh lettuce mix - and lots of it
Young spinach
Young swiss chard
Baby beets with big beet greens
Fresh cilantro and dill
The very last of our winter pumpkins
Pecans
Honey
Goat milk soap
Salsas and relishes
Farm fresh eggs
Plants for your own garden:
Tomatoes (several varieties)
Peppers - California Wonder Bells
Straight neck yellow squash
This week there should definitely be cucumbers!!!
A couple of the kids are contemplating bagging up compost for sale. Let us know if you'd be interested!
See you tomorrow!
