Giving Back
Part of why we do what we do (i.e. work our butts off for no money) is to have an opportunity to bless others in the community (and elsewhere) by providing real, sustainable, fresh produce that's available locally, at prices you can feed a family on. We also take the opportunity whenever it's possible to help those in need and to participate in the community.
You who regularly come out to the store play a part too. It's because of you that we can afford to keep it up, so we thought we'd make sure you know what you've helped us to do:
1. Last year, partly due to donations at our store, as well as a bunch of garage sales, our daughters and their friends were able to pay for a well in Africa that will provide clean water for 1,000 people
2. We regularly donate produce that doesn't sell over the weekend and won't last another week to the Cove House homeless shelter
3. Same for excess fresh eggs
4. We were able to sponsor a hole at the Cove House charity golf tournament a couple of weeks ago
5. Last week we were priviliged to participate with a booth at the Community Montessori school Serendipity Festival in Georgetown. We were able to talk to lots of folks about growing things, improving the soil, and providing their kids with fresh vegetables. We were also able to sell a bunch of produce and donate half the proceeds to the school
Thanks to you for helping us be good stewards of the land, the plants, our kids, and our time. If you keep coming out, we'll keep being there.
